Our English-speaking taxi driver will pick you up from the lobby of the ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky, so that you can enjoy an unforgettable winter experience in the Hakusan Tedorigawa UNESCO Global Geopark!

9.10am: Guided tour of the Shirayama Hime Shrine with blessing ceremony
The Shirayama Hime Shrine is the head shrine of almost 3,000 Hakusan Shrines found throughout Japan, enshrining the God of love and fate. Here our official Geopark Guide will show you through the beautiful grounds of the shrine, before taking you to a sacred blessing ceremony, where you and your companions can see a traditional shrine song and dance, and will be blessed and purified by the shrine priest.

10.30am: Yuzu Jam Making at Senami Café
Travel to Senami Cafe, deep in the mountains, where you will meet the warm and friendly Hasatani couple. Together, you will make yuzu jam - a citrus fruit renowned in Japan, and receive a jar to take home.

Traditional Snowshoe Hike*
In the afternoon, head outside to try kanjiki - traditional Japanese snowshoes. Kanjiki were used in the past to travel between villages during winter, when snowfall was several meters deep, and are shaped for trekking over rugged mountainous terrain.

2.30pm: Brief interview and survey to assess the quality of the tour

3pm~: Free time (Must arrive in Kanazawa by 5pm.)
For the rest of the afternoon, use your private taxi to travel around the area. We will provide you with a map and give you recommendations on where to visit.

5pm: Arrive in Kanazawa
We can drop you off anywhere within central Kanazawa.
*Poor Weather Replacement:
In the case of poor weather conditions and/or lack of snow, snowshoe hiking will be replaced with the following.
Try your hand at cracking locally foraged walnuts - a winter staple in the mountainous areas. Then, using your walnuts, make a dessert pizza to have as afternoon tea.

This tour has been made in collaboration with the Hakusan Tedorigawa Geopark Promotion Council, ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky, and the Hokuriku Gakuin University. We will ask all participants to fill out a survey to assess the quality of the tour.
